I like being involved in the entire process.
Whether it's a commercial or a longer project, I enjoy starting with an idea, figuring out what the story is, planning how we're going to shoot it, and then putting everything together in the edit.
Working with so many different clients has taught me that every project is different. Some people know exactly what they want, while others need help figuring it out. I've gotten comfortable asking questions, throwing around ideas, working with people on camera, and finding an approach that makes sense for whoever I'm creating for.
I think that's also why I've enjoyed being able to do more than one part of production. I like writing. I like being behind the camera. I like interviewing people and getting them comfortable enough to tell their story. And I like editing everything together and finally seeing the idea we started with become a finished piece.
